Sometimes, the simplest things make the biggest difference.
We’re often quick to overlook small actions or ideas, especially the ones that seem too easy or too ordinary. But ease doesn’t mean less value.
A tiny shift in a habit, a small moment of care, or a simple ingredient can quietly spark real change. This week’s reminder: don’t underestimate the power of the simple and small.
It just might be the thing that helps you feel better, breathe easier, or stay more present.
That’s what inspired this week’s edition: the beauty and richness in life’s simplest things.
Mint
Mint has been used for thousands of years, across cultures, to aid digestion, freshen breath, and cool the body. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans all valued it, not just as a herb but sometimes even as an offering or symbol of hospitality.
It’s simple, yes, but it’s stood the test of time for a reason.
What the science says:
Supports digestion: Mint may help relax the muscles in our digestive tract, reducing bloating and discomfort (especially after meals).
Helps with focus and alertness: The scent of mint has been shown to boost energy and mental clarity.
Eases respiratory tension: Menthol, found in mint, can help open up our airways and make breathing feel easier.
Contains antioxidants: These protect our cells from stress and support overall well-being.
May support gut health: Some small studies suggest mint can help relieve symptoms of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).
Buying + Keeping It Simple
The easiest way I’ve found to keep mint on hand is to buy the little living mint plants we find in the produce section of the grocery store. They're meant to be used, not replanted. I just keep the container in the fridge and snip off what I need.
I’m not great at keeping plants alive for long (working on it), but this way, I don’t have to be. It lasts long enough for what I need, and the leaves stay fresh.
Mint + Lime Infused Water
Let’s come back to that idea: simple things, big difference. This recipe is one of the easiest things you can do to enhance how you hydrate. Especially now that warmer days are ahead.
You’ll need:
10 fresh mint leaves, lightly crushed
Juice of 1 small lime
About 1 liter of water
What to do:
Place the crushed mint and lime juice in a jar or pitcher.
Fill with water.
Let it sit in the fridge for a few hours (or overnight).
Use a strainer when pouring, so the leaves stay in the jar.
Enjoy chilled!
Why this mix matters:
Lime adds:
A boost of vitamin C, which helps support our immune system and skin health.
Gentle support for digestion through its acidity.
Antioxidants that help our bodies deal with everyday stress.
Mint + Lime + Water together:
Help us stay hydrated, because the better it tastes, the more likely we are to drink it.
May offer digestive ease when sipped throughout the day.
It brings a refreshing, cooling effect, especially helpful as the heat starts creeping in.
It’s a small thing, but it can shift how we feel in our bodies throughout the day.

Want to play with other combos? I do! On my list to try:
Cucumber + Mint – super refreshing, great for the skin.
Mint + Basil + Lime – layered and aromatic.
Mint + Ginger slices – adds a subtle, spicy kick.
Freeze your flavored water into ice cubes to refresh plain water or fizzy drinks.
Keep it simple.
This week, notice the simple things. A small joy. A tiny ritual. A little thing that has a big impact on you.
Look for a task you could do with less effort and ask yourself: What am I overcomplicating? Note what could shift when you let it be simpler.
Enjoy your findings. Repeat as needed.
That’s all for today. Thanks for being here!
Until next time,
